Prescot Museum moved venues in April 2012, relocating as part of the new multi-purpose venue; The Prescot Centre, which is also home to Prescot Library and Prescot One Stop Shop. It has a fresh and exciting new look, with all key objects taking pride of place and with lots of stunning black and white photographs setting the scene for each of the displays.
Whilst the Museum now sits within an indoor shopping centre, an unusual if not unique location for a museum, it has a more accessible positioning within its local community and ability to now serve and attract non-users as well as its traditional museum visitors. The museum continues to presents a range of permanent and temporary displays and exhibitions, celebrating the history of Prescot, including the town's watchmaking past, former industries, local dignitaries and businesses and much more.
Prescot Museum exists to inform and inspire by preserving, promoting and providing access to the cultural heritage of Knowsley through our local history collection, museum displays and educational and outreach programme. We provide a window on the world through our exhibitions and openly encourage visitor interaction in all that we do.
