More about

The Museum is located in the nineteenth-century Chipping Norton Co-op Society Meeting Hall. Exhibits depict the history and development of the town from Nortone, a Norman manor, to Chipping Norton, a prosperous market town. The Museum includes a hands-on 1930s kitchen, a display on Chipping Norton 'All England Baseball Champions' from 1926, and farming implements. Other displays feature Chipping Norton at War, Bliss Tweed Mill, the Hub ironworks, a sixth-century head and approximately 2,000 photographs of the town and locality dated from 1870 to the 1980s.
