Chelmsford Museum, owned by Chelmsford Borough Council, has a good collection of art works – 179 oil paintings. Display space is unfortunately limited to a handful of pictures on permanent display at Chelmsford Museum. The bulk of the collection is kept in the Museum Store on slide-out double-sided storage racks, or unframed in solander boxes.
