The Alexandra Hospital, Redditch, is one of three major hospitals which comprise Worcestershire Acute Hospitals NHS Trust (the others being Worcestershire Royal Hospital and Kidderminster Hospital and Treatment Centre). It opened in 1986 to serve the communities of Redditch and Bromsgrove. In its 18-year existence, the Hospital has acquired a significant collection of artworks, in both oil and acrylic. Although the details surrounding the acquisition of these works were not recorded, it is thought that many may have been gifts from former patients, while others may have been donated by local artists' groups.
