With over 300 years of service to the Crown, 1st The Queen’s Dragoon Guards (QDG) has a regimental history second to none. QDG, and its parent Regiments: 1st King’s Dragoon Guards and The Queen’s Bays (2nd Dragoon Guards) have participated in every major conflict and campaign undertaken by the United Kingdom since its formation in 1685 to the present day. The Regimental Collection focuses mainly on the campaigns that the Regiments took part in and contains portraits of some of the more famous personalities that served in the Regiments. 1st The Queen's Dragoon Guards Heritage Trust collection of paintings is held in three locations, namely Firing Line, Cardiff Castle Museum of the Welsh Soldier, Maindy Barracks, Cardiff, and Sennelager, Germany.
