Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has worked in partnership with local universities, colleges and schools since 2001 to develop a Healing Arts Programme to improve the patient environment in the Trust’s ten hospitals. The programme provides an opportunity for professional artists and students to exhibit their work in prime locations within a busy hospital environment. Many of the works in the collection have been provided on long-term loan, generously donated by local artists or presented to the trust by local philanthropists. The collection continues to grow from year to year.
