The core of Bassetlaw Museum's collection is a group of paintings by James Walsham Baldock, a nineteenth century Worksop artist. Many of these represent rural themes which were so familiar to him. Bassetlaw villages and countryside are recurring themes by various artists in the collection. However industrial subjects, such as 'Manton Colliery' by Druie Bowett, are also present. Less traditional styles are represented through works by Barbara Delaney, Eileen Agar and Ceri Geraldus Richards.
