The Bloomberg Connects app is a free digital guide where you can explore content from numerous cultural organisations. Wherever you are in the world, you can access a range of material, either to add to your experience viewing the gallery in person, or to enjoy from the comfort of your own home. Falmouth Art Gallery

To discover what Falmouth Art Gallery has to offer, why not visit the gallery's guide on the Bloomberg Connects app? Here you can find a huge range of content including audio and video as well as a very special welcome given by 11-year-old Ivy, a lifelong visitor to the gallery.

You can also discover highlights of the newly opened 'Hevva! Hevva! – Fishing in Cornwall' exhibition in the gallery's guide. This exhibition explores stories from Cornwall's fishing industry, both past and present and showcases both historic and contemporary paintings, including Falmouth Natives by Charles Napier Hemy.

The guide reads: 'The fishermen depicted are oyster dredging from a working sail board off Falmouth. The town still has a fleet of iconic working boats and a handful that fish in the traditional manner. Today's oystermen are governed by the same ancient laws and they must use sail power and hand-pulled dredges – a scene identical to that depicted in Hemy's painting.'

Falmouth Art Gallery's guide also explores another of Falmouth's historical industries, automata making. Due to the legacy of a shop called Cabaret and its links with three well-known automata makers, Falmouth is regarded as the home of automata and continues to inspire new makers today. Falmouth Art Gallery has a huge number of automata in its collection, highlights of which you can explore in the collection's guide on the Bloomberg Connects app.

Falmouth Art Gallery also plays its part in inspiring future generations. The exhibition 'Roll the Dice', for example, showcases work by Splanna (meaning 'shine' in Cornish). This is a collaborative group of young people aged 11–14 which, through art, investigates themes relating to climate and activism at Falmouth Art Gallery. Exploring fast fashion, here inspired by upcycling, Splanna created a dress entirely from rubbish and recycled materials.
