Laura Woodfield joined Art UK at the end of 2017 as their first ever Learning and Engagement Manager. She is responsible for the delivery of a national programme of events linked to their sculpture project.
Previous to Art UK, Laura spent over a decade working in museum and gallery education, most recently at the Victoria & Albert Museum. During her time there she worked with a variety of audiences, including schools, families and young people. Highlights included managing CreateVoice, the V&A’s youth collective, overseeing the development of CreateFutures, a community-focused programme which supports young people aged 16–24 who are not currently in employment, education or training, and establishing their National Art & Design Saturday Club, the first to operate at a museum nationally.
Laura has a first-class History of Art BA and an MA with distinction in Contemporary Art Theory from Goldsmiths College, University of London. She recently relocated to the seaside with her family after a long time in London and particularly enjoys stumbling across the weirdest artwork that Art UK has to offer – her current favourite is the eerie Our Days Were a Joy and Our Paths Through Flowers by David Inshaw.
