Lara Goodband has over 25 years of experience working with artists as an art curator in galleries, museums and unusual places and spaces. She took up the new Arts Council-funded position as Contemporary Art Curator & Programmer at RAMM in October 2018 and immediately commissioned the award-winning filmmaker Michelle Williams Gamaker who created The Silver Wave inspired by RAMM's Arctic collections.

Lara has gone on to curate the critically-acclaimed and popular Sea Garden exhibition at RAMM (Nov 2019 to Jan 2020) working with artists including Dorothy Cross, Mikhail Krikis and Lucy Skaer. She curated major contemporary art exhibitions and education projects as part of Hull City of Culture working with artists Bik van der Pol, John Smith, John Akomfrah, Mariele Neudecker amongst others and was part of the Ferens Art Gallery curatorial team shortlisted for Museum of the Year 2017.

From 2011 to 2013 Lara directed international programmes for the Cultural Olympiad including the award-winning Sea Swim project. Her experience includes strategic planning and partnerships across cultural institutions as well as co-directing the large-scale, outdoor contemporary art project York Curiouser in 2014/5. As Director of Exeter Culture in 2018, she commissioned the city's new arts and culture strategy. She was made an Honorary Fellow at the University of Exeter in July 2020.
