Claire Mead is a European Franco-British art and design curator and queer feminist activist working in London. Campaigning for queer visibility within museums has led Claire to working with numerous institutions and organisations.

As 2018 curator in residence at Middlesbrough Institute of Modern Art, she curated the exhibition ‘Living Beyond Limits’, queering the museum's modern and contemporary art collection in collaboration with the local LGBTQI community. She recently curated the project ‘Museums are a Drag’ at Museum Association’s Festival of Change in November 2018, a drag workshop reimagined as a forum to discuss gender non-conformity within the art museum. As a member of the Collectif Archives LGBTQI in Paris, France, she has co-organised 'Archive Fever' at the Carreau du Temple in Paris in May 2018, a day of talks, workshops and DIY exhibitions to imagine an official French LGBTQI centre. She is also one of the London hosts for the Social Art Network's events, focusing on social art practices around queering space.
