Bart Cornelis has been the curator of Dutch and Flemish Paintings at The National Gallery, London, since 2017. Before that, he was Deputy Editor of The Burlington Magazine, and before moving to the United Kingdom from the Netherlands, he was assistant curator at the Rijksmuseum, Amsterdam.
He curated the exhibition 'Adriaen van de Velde: Dutch Master of Landscape', which was held at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam and Dulwich Picture Gallery in London in 2016–2017. He is the co-curator of 'Nicolaes Maes: Dutch Master of the Golden Age', an exhibition organised in collaboration with the Mauritshuis in The Hague, where it will be shown from 17th October 2019 to 19th January 2020, before opening at The National Gallery, London (22nd February to 31st May 2020).
