Anna Robertson is Fine and Applied Art Manager for Leisure and Culture Dundee. Based at The McManus, she is responsible for a nationally significant fine and applied art collection of some 10,000 items. She is a member of the Art UK Steering Group and a former Board member of Dundee Printmakers Workshop.
She has worked in a variety of museum roles, beginning her career as a guide at Lauriston Castle in Edinburgh. She was Assistant Keeper of Art at The McManus before a move away from the collection to become an arts development officer. In this role, she was involved in the establishment of Dundee Contemporary Arts before joining the team responsible for the redevelopment of The McManus between 2005 and 2010. During this project, she was one of two lead curators coordinating the creation of new displays across eight galleries. She has spent much of the subsequent ten years working on exhibition partnerships – most notably with the National Galleries of Scotland and the V&A – whilst continuing to develop the fine art collection.
