Eric Gill (1882–1940) and younger brother MacDonald or Max Gill (1884–1947) notably interacted with London, most especially for Eric through the Ariel sculptures adorning the facade of the BBC building in Portland Place, and the Stations of the Cross low-relief sculptures in Westminster Cathedral (not illustrated on Art UK) and for MacDonald the Wonderground Map (not illustrated either) commissioned in 1914 for the Underground. Presented here some of Eric's London sculptures - including studies for two of the Wind series on London Transport's 55 Broadway building - as well as a small selection of MacDonald's maps. Cousin Colin Gill, who died one day before Eric Gill in October 1940 is covered in a separate wartime Curation.
