In 1938 an exhibition of the artist’s work was arranged for Arthur Greatorex Ltd, Print Publishers and Dealers in Works of Art, London. The show included a variety of artworks, including a collection of oil paintings made on unprimed cloth. It is likely that this is a study for a painting of a hare that was shown in the exhibition, and which is now held by Macclesfield Museums/Silk Heritage Trust.
