Above, a series of coped gables, the sixth bay from the north end bearing the Wyvern crest of the Midland Railway Company. There are two on the station facades, as part of a set of relief carvings. There is also a Yorkshire rose. The station was significantly remodelled in 1904–1905 with new frontage.
