The large piece of fine-grained sandstone is carved to form a grotesque Medieval figure. The stone's function as a drainage trough is indicted by the channel cut along the damaged upper face of the stone. This channel is angled downwards through the head of the figure, allowing the water to exit through the mouth. The stone is very eroded, but the remains of large slanting eyes can be seen, as well ass what maybe the neck-line of a robe worn by the figure.
