A freestanding memorial in pale green and white moulded and glazed faience blocks with a dark green cast-iron drinking bowl above a segmental arch and recessed and inset tablet. There is an inscription and floral leaf decoration below a semi-circular arch and acanthus keystone. It has cast emblems of Royal Welch Fusiliers to left and Grenadier Guards to right and a rubble stone rear support wall and flanking walls with marble First and Second World War tablets added later. It is commemorating two men from the village who died serving in the Second Anglo-Boer War. The memorial was first erected further west along the A5, set into the wall. In this position it was in grave danger from the traffic and had over the years received many knocks. In 1995 Mr Charlie Mellish, Chairman, Llangollen Rural Community Council began a campaign to have the memorial moved and restored.
