An allegorical winged statue representing Victory is placed against a wide wall. She holds a large palm branch. The wall holds ten lists of 1012 men lost in the First World War, engraved in metal plates. A further low stone memorial stands in front of the original memorial and this commemorates the residents of Lancaster who were killed or missing in the Second World War (326 names), the Korean War and the Falklands War.
