This etching is from the series 'La Noblesse', which possibly illustrates the costumes worn at the Lorraine Court, working as a counterpoint to Les Mendiants. Callot's work influenced other artists. Rembrandt admired Callot's skill with the etching needle and was inspired by these prints for his own beggars. Callot's ability to capture a wide range of subjects and convey emotions through his prints has left a lasting legacy in the history of printmaking.
