Born in France, Gliubislavich studied at École Supérieure des Arts Décoratifs (ESAD), Strasbourg, France, and at Central Saint Martins School of Art, London. She was nominated for the Sovereign European Art Prize in 2008 and was selected for Jerwood Contemporary Painters in 2009. Her paintings, all untitled, often feature crowds of people in a rather muted palette. This work was inspired by a 1930s photograph of an unknown dance class, giving the painting an air of mystery and nostalgia.
