On the chest tomb is a depiction of James Scudamore. He is shown reclining, leaning on a cushion as though talking with others. The tomb is framed with decorated pilasters supported by garlanded consoles, within which are curtains and putti carrying a wreath. The cornice is topped with a pair of flaming urns and the family coat of arms.
