The wood is planted with predominantly native trees and shrubs but individual species are significant in their link to the work of the Princess of Wales. The Peace Glade contains three Bosnian Pines representing the Princess's work with the land mine clearance campaign in Bosnia, while the Children's Glade signifies her charity work with children. The Touch Trail includes species with soft, colourful and fragrant or unusual foliage. The metal rose arches represent the Princess's place as 'England's Rose'.
