A man sits at his desk in his study surrounded by books. He holds his quill and appears to be lost in thoughts. A cupid peeks through the half open stained glass window that faces the desk. A bust stands on the highest shelf at the rear wall. Six little women, possibly fairies, are spread around the room. Three stand on his desk, one sits on a book behind his chair, another on top of a shelf. The sixth has hidden herself underneath his student\'s cap on top of a pile of books in the lower right corner.
