Impressionist painting depicting a view along a wide country stream, lined on both banks with dark tree trunks and branches overhanging the water. The viewer is positioned in the water looking downstream, as if in a boat. There are swans and rocks emerging from the water further down the stream. The sky is bright white in colour and the water consists of a multitude of tones such as blue, green and yellow. The paintwork is somewhat textured and there is much focussed attention on the rich colours of the scene.
