The Holy Trinity is in high relief on the west front of the building. God the Father is at the top, then Christ on the Cross, then the Holy Spirit. There are also six angels. Behind the cross, branches sprout in low relief with leaves symbolizing eternal life, made possible by Christ’s sacrifice. The roots of this tree of life run around the west door and are supported by statues of the four Evangelists, which are placed on either side of the door. As pinnacles or finials at the four corners of the building are the Virgin appearing to Saint Bernadette, Christ appearing to Saint Mary, Saint Thomas of Canterbury and Saint Edward the Confessor. The church fell out of religious use in 1999 and was transferred to the Historic Chapels Trust in 2002.
