The husband of Ann Fortescue, John Inglett Fortescue, is depicted at the right of the upright rectangular panel, mourning over a cylindrical pedestal. On the left a younger male figure, John Dicker Inglett Fortescue – the couple's only son – is depicted on one knee. Both are in contemporary dress. The figures are carved in high relief and the panel stands on a narrow plinth.
