A sitting room with a table at the centre at which a boy and a young woman are seated. On the table are various dishes, plates, cutlery and a teapot. A servant is standing behind the table holding a dish. Behind her is a folding screen. A door is on the left-hand side of the rear wall and a fireplace, with a clock on the mantlepiece and a mirror above it, is visible behind the folding screen towards the right of the rear wall. Phiz\'s signature is on the lower left corner and that of the Dalziel Brothers on the lower right corner.
