The accompanying text in German reads, 'Die Wolken zieh'n gewitter schwer, im Abenddunkel zieht das Heer. Gen welchen Feind ist es gesandt? - S zieht gen sein eig'nes Vaterland, und gen sein eignes Hab und Gut, und gen sein eignes Fleisch und Blut, und mit dem Banēr stolz voran dem Heere geht der Sensenmann.
