Nineteenth-century frame. The Virgin Mary, St John and St Mary Magdalen are shown in the central panel, while on the lower right panel a male donor is depicted. Simone dei Crocefissi, a leading artist in Bologna, ran an important workshop that produced a large number of devotional works for private clients. This may date from late in his career c.1380.
