Durges' work explores the relationship between nature and self and our connection to the natural world. Often working en plein air at night, Durges uses the moon or other ambient light to expose her images. In 'Star Field – Blackthorn' a tranquil night sky is mirrored in a delicate rippling pool, punctuated only by the jagged shadow of a blackthorn bush stealing the light of the stars.
