A monumental curved wall with a cutout profile of a standing soldier at rest, and texts. A large red poppy is attached to the outside of the wall. The figure is based upon that sculpted by Louis Frederick Roslyn for his First World War memorial at Clitheroe and Slaidburn, Lancashire. The names of the 686 fallen from the Leyland and Chorley area are laser-cut into the inward-curved side, facing the park, on either side of the soldier figure. The memorial may be viewed from both sides.
