on the front west face inscribed green panel: TO THE GLORY OF / GOD / AND IN PROUD AND / GRATEFUL MEMORY / OF THE MEN OF / SLEAFORD / QUARRINGTON / & HOLDINGHAM / WHO LAID DOWN / THEIR LIVES IN / THE GREAT WAR / 1914 - 1918 / GREATER LOVE HATH / NO MAN THAN THIS / THAT A MAN LAY DOWN / HIS LIFE FOR HIS / FRIENDS.; below a separate panel inscribed: ALSO TO THE MEMORY OF / THOSE WHO DIED IN THE WAR / 1939 - 1945.; there are five panels on the remaining sides with the names of those who died in the First World War, and five panels below for those who died in the Second World War
