Sir William Richard Powlett Geary was born on 13th November 1810 and died 19th December 1877. On 14th July 1835, he married Louisa Bruce (1802–1870). He was MP for Kent (West) from 1835–1838 and took the Chiltern Hundreds in 1837. In 1852 he married Mary Isabella Grant, the daughter of Sir Francis Grant. She died 1854 aged 23. His country house was called Oxon Hoath, Tonbridge, Kent which was occupied by the family until 1945 when it was sold to the Baden-Powell family who sold it in 1999. His son, Sir Francis Geary became the 4th Bt. The 5th and final Baronet was Sir William Nevill Montgomerie Geary (b.1859). The 1st Baronet created in 1772 was Admiral Sir Francis Geary (1710?–1796). There are portraits of him by George Romney and Francis Cotes in the National Maritime Museum.
