A copy of a statue originally commissioned in 1751 by the Sir John Cass Foundation. The original now stands in the Guildhall, London. The original statue was erected on the original school building overlooking Aldgate High Street. In 1869 the statue was moved to the new school building in Jewry Street. In 1980, after conservation, it was installed in the lobby of the Guildhall Old Library. This replica, one of several, was created in celebration of the 250th anniversary of the foundation. Cass is depicted in his alderman robes.
