Possibly a copy of a photograph at the National Portrait Gallery, a whole plate film negative, taken by Bassano Ltd, 26th June 1936. Sir Edwin Deller (1883–1936) had been a student of the University of London before becoming Academic Registrar (1921) and then Principal (1929–1936). 'He was a born administrator and a man of great culture and knowledge of the world, while his quickness of intuition made him skilful in handling men and situations' – ODNB. He was instrumental in the development of the Senate House site and the appointment of an architect (Charles Holden). As a memorial, the pictures of him are supplemented by books in Senate House Library purchased with the Edwin Deller Memorial Fund. The work is framed and glazed.
