A life-size bronze statue of Sir David Amess, MP, a well-loved figure of the local community and Southend West Constituency, who was fatally stabbed in 2021. The work is aptly sited on a low-level plinth placing him among Southend’s community. He is show standing in a suit with a scarf tied round his neck and papers tucked under his arm, reflecting the campaigning he did to gain city status for Southend.
