Two bronze male figures, one standing with his hands on the shoulders of the seated military man in front of him. The seated man looks to his left with his hands together and legs crossed at his ankles. They are on a low circular step within a low semi-circular wall. The work commemorates the work of pioneering plastic surgeon Sir Archibald McIndoe, who worked for the Royal Airforce during the Second World War and whose patients formed the famous Guinea Pig Club – people who had had reconstructive plastic surgery especially for burns injuries.
