National Trust, Oxburgh Hall
Oxburgh Hall, an imposing brick, moated manor complete with a gatehouse, was built by Sir Edmund Bedingfeld I (1443–1496) in about 1482. The Bedingfelds, a Catholic family very much at the forefront of public affairs in the Tudor period, have continued, despite sojourns on the Continent and in Bath at the beginning of the nineteenth century, to be associated with Oxburgh.
