Three figures are depicted on a gold ground. A Franciscan friar on the left is holding a book and a lance with a furled pennant and is accompanied by a dog. Saint Apollonia in the centre is holding a tooth in a pair of pincers in one hand and in the other another tooth between her fingers. On the right, a man, possibly a saint, wearing armour is holding a sword and a golden shield.
