Possibly Saint James the Great, complete except for the head. He is depicted wearing a short sleeved, sideless surcote worn over a cotehardie which is long sleeved, with nine large round buttons from the neckline to below the waist fastening the surcote. The surcote is voluminous and hangs in wide drapes from the chest. He is holding a staff, or similar in the right hand which is slightly raised. A book complete with book clasps and pages is held in the left hand over the left hand side of the chest.
