Richard Headington was a member of the Corporation of Surgeons and an early member of the newly formed College of Surgeons, and served as Assistant Surgeon and then Surgeon to the London Hospital, from June 1799. He served as Vice President of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1829 and President during 1830–1831.
