A guest-room at an inn at night. On each side is a four-poster bed with curtains around them. There is a door in the rear wall between the beds. A man wearing glasses and a nightcap is peering through the curtains of the bed on the left-hand side. A lady is standing with her back to the other bed and combing her long hair in front of a mirror. The scene is lit by a candle that is attached to the mirror. A chair is placed between the two people with the nightcap and the nightshirt of the woman draped across it. Phiz's signature is in the lower left-hand corner.
