The traditional fishing coble, 'Repus', was found in bad repair at South GareIt. It was discovered to have once belonged to a Skinningrove fisherman who had died in the 1980s. The boat was actually built at Redcar in 1963 and retired from the fishing register in November 1996. Local people repaired the boat and two chainsaw-carved sculptures of seamen were added in 2008 as a memorial to all fishermen lost at sea off the Grove. An anchor is placed to the side of the boat.
