These are figures of the leading characters of the Ramayana epic, specifically Rama (centre) and his brother Lakshmana (right), both with quivers of arrows on their backs seen protruding above their right shoulders. They are no doubt missing weapons they originally held in their hands, often including bows (for the arrows). The figure at left is a female, Sita, Rama's consort. These figures are part of a Ramayana set of which numerous versions exist, which would typically include a fourth figure, the monkey god Hanuman.
