An aged Queen Victoria sat on an elaborate throne with a canopy. She wears a crown on her head and holds an orb and sceptre in either hand. The back of the throne and canopy comprise a piled-up curved pediments, brackets and pedestals, which echoes the shape of the lantern of the steeple of Cathedral of the Church of St Nicholas nearby. A plumed helmet with a crown on top perches on the top of the canopy. The base is decorated at regular intervals with helmeted children's heads.
