The artist Mary Frances Croom (1876–1972) was Alfred Palmer's future wife. They married in 1906. Croom was born and raised in Deptford and is recorded as living in Deptford in the 1891 census, so a connection with Goldsmith's is possible. Palmer also lived in South East London, born in Camberwell and then lived in Norwood, where he attended Dulwich College.
