Half-length portrait of a naval officer wearing uniform consisting of a blue coat with red collar and gold facings and a tricorn hat, which he carries under his arm. The sitter is unknown but was once thought to be 'Admiral Bridge', however this was discredited as no such figure appears in British naval records.
