A tray cloth of cream-coloured linen worked in cross stitch with two shades of green stranded cotton; the border is a geometricised scrolling foliate vine motif; just inside the border, in each of the four corners is geometricized leaf motif. NDS. 1955. This was made under the guidance of an organisation called 'The Glasgow Cripple League'. The Embroiderers' Guild totally understands that the term 'cripple' is not acceptable in today's society however for accurate recording of the source of the piece we need to leave the organisation name as it is. If anyone has any information on this organisation the Embroiderers' Guild would welcome the information.
