The engraving, which is entitled 'The mighty Ka'bah of God', was drawn by the Austrian orientalist Andreas Magnus Hunglinger. It is based in part on an illustration in d'Hosson's Tableau Général de l'Empire Ottoman. Sixty buildings and locations in the mosque and the surrounding area are numbered and are identified by captions. Pilgrims, dressed in their ihram clothing, can be seen arriving from as far as Mount 'Arafat.
